It’s Throwback Thursday here at the Acres, a nifty device to cover for the fact that Nothing is Happening in the Present, just the usual, dreary, day-to-day maintenance.
We will be retreating this Friday through Monday, camping at Harmonie SP–no cell service, internet, or cable. I need to do some hiking, stare into a campfire, and detox from the all-consuming TV-news. Reading this post from the 2013 government shut-down week-end, I felt the same way back then.
Olivia is going to join us on Sunday, and I’ll be in and out of town, so don’t worry that I will actually miss any breaking news. In fact don’t worry at all…

In case you didn’t know, I had a rough week, and so did the United States of America… In an attempt to run to a spot of nature, I ran into a roadblock: America is closed… You can bet that the ass-hat congress is not missing a paycheck, though.
What to do? We were within an hour of Music City, so we pressed on…
