We arrived at Lake Rudolph in the oppressive heat, wilting, but still smiling. The pool was wonderful, the golf cart was a real hit, and we celebrated Emma’s half-birthday with s’mores…
The next morning the Jrs met up with us and we headed over to Holiday World early. We managed to ride the carousel, the train, and meet Santa within the first 2 hours of our arrival…
Then the thunderstorms arrived and shut down the park…really. We were stuck in the gift shop for nearly an hour as the sky emptied and the thunder rolled. In a park full of roller coasters, this means they don’t run. We managed to enjoy our wait…
When the park shuts down for more than an hour, they give you tickets to return at another time, either that evening or another day. Though the rain let up later that afternoon, we opted to go back another day—hopefully one that is a little less humid, if that ever occurs. We filled out our day playing mini-golf…
Even though our park visit was cut short, it was still a full day. We swam some more, had more s’mores, and drove the golf cart everywhere…
We have started our Camp Activities–Music includes our perennial Theme Song “Welcome to Camp Sonnystone”, and “Hall of Fame” with choreography. Today we made flower crowns and tomorrow we’ll do Make-it and Bake-it…so stay tuned.
